BACK TO SCHOOL

I was once a cliché fashion school dropout and later became a cliché mature-aged student.

I started studying fashion for a year when I first left high school in and then fifteen years later, after gaining some life experiences, I decided to pick up where I left off.

The dream of creating my own fashion brand has been with me for as long as I can remember. However, before taking the plunge, I wanted to master all the elements involved in the business.

One of the pivotal moments in this decision-making process was a special session with a medium. He relayed a message from my brother, who passed away at the beginning of 2020, encouraging me to stop working on building up other brands and instead focus on building up my own.

The Covid lockdowns and the shift to a new work-from-home life also provided me with the space to truly reflect on what I wanted to prioritise. I always felt a sense of unfinished business with my course and this feeling only grew stronger over time.

Returning to school in my early thirties has definitely not been easy, but I have never once regretted my decision.
